The beautiful dark green fronds of the bronze fennel plant have a sweeter anise flavor than found in green fennel.
Use fennel to bring extra dimension to both savory and sweet dishes:
- Incorporate fennel's flavor to a salad without incorporating the fibrous bulb
- Simmer in a stew, or season a broth or sauce
- Sub for licorice in sweets - pair with chocolate, cream, and fruit such as apricots
