About Nepitella Edible Flowers
Nepitella, also known as Calamint, is a member of the mint family. This traditional Italian herb grows wild in Tuscany, and its flavor is complex: refreshingly minty, with savory undertones of basil and oregano. This herb sprouts pale pink-purple or white flowers that taste just as herbaceous as its leaves.
Enjoy incorporating these flowers into your diet by:
- Pairing with earthy flavors, such as mushroom, artichoke, and cream. Our favorite use is sprinkling the flowers atop a mushroom risotto or creamy pasta!
- Garnishing a fatty cut of meat, such as lamb or beef
- Adding a stem into a cocktail where you might use mint
